Day 8
Niagara Falls NY

So this is what on the Appalachian Trail hikers called a zero day, meaning we did not advance down the trial or in this case the planned trip. We took a day off to visit my sister from Canada and do tourist type stuff with her and husband.
First they wanted to hit the local Casino while our laundry was drying. Dianne lost all her $20 in half an hour as did Donna my sister.
Then we drove back towards Hamburg NY and toured the Frank Loyd Wright home called GrayCliff. It was build in 1926 for a Wealthy soap producer from Buffalo as a summer home and cottage. Although quite striking I am not sure I would fall on the ground and worship the design as great. I did like the open concept in the design you could see right though the house and onto Lake Erie in Center. However without neighbors nearby I am not sure that matter much. They had servants and chauffeurs living in the house and out buildings, so it seemed over done to me. All the details that were discussed as brilliant just seem like wasted spaces or common sense to me. But I am an Engineer with no eye for art or lines, or even artist design. Just look at the way I cook I like good tasting food and really never try to “plate it” to perfection.
Then we had a huge lunch meaning tonight we had left over chicken wings from yesterday and egg rolls from lunch. I can not say I am suffering. Dianne had not had Ice cream for 2 whole days so withdraw was kicking and we found some on a walk taking more pictures of the falls from the bridge to Canada.
